Playa Cocles

Just 900 meters from Lomas del Caribe.

Located in front of the Atlantic Ocean, Cocles Beach is one of the best places to surf in Costa Rica. Its northern end has the highest waves and strongest currents, while the southern area is quieter and ideal for swimming or playing beach soccer on its fine white sand.

Playa Chiquita

3 km from Lomas del Caribe.

Playa Chiquita offers a calmer alternative to neighboring Playa Cocles thanks to its protective reefs, which make the waves more suitable for swimming and snorkeling than for surfing. Its soft white sand is surrounded by a lush jungle with hiking trails and native fauna, such as three-toed sloths and colorful toucans. You can easily reach this beach of free access using the coastal road.

Playa Negra

6 km from Lomas del Caribe.

The black volcanic sand beach of Playa Negra contrasts dramatically with the white sand beaches of the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. If you want to swim, you can find less strong currents at the southern end, near the entrance to the historic center of Puerto Viejo.

Punta Uva

5 km from Lomas del Caribe.

Punta Uva beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It has been awarded many times and is considered and catalogued within the list of best beaches in the world.

Catarata Bribri y Volio

17 km from Lomas del Caribe.

This beautiful treasure of the South Caribbean is hidden in the heart of Talamanca, with an impressive fall of more than 30 meters and beautiful pools that simulate a natural spa. Its access involves a hike of about 2km between trees and trails, we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes for walking on the rocks.
